Since his first appearance in the Saiyan saga of Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta has become one of the most important and recognizable characters in all of Dragon Ball. His character has undergone many changes, both in terms of his motives and the way he interacts with the people around him. One thing that hasn’t changed is that he’s still a great fighter.
Audiences first get a glimpse of this during his first battle with Goku, but, like then, he becomes increasingly powerful as the series continues to evolve. He may not have what it takes to fully outmaneuver the main hero of the series, but he still has more than enough in his closet to deliver some serious punishment when the situation calls for it.
TOP 5 of Vegeta best fights, ranked
1. Majin Vegeta vs Goku
Since their first battle on earth, a rematch between Goku and Vegeta has been brought up several times, but it wasn’t until the Majin Buu story that emerged. However, the Saiyan Prince was so desperate that he appeared victorious this time, to the point that he allowed Babidi to effectively control his body to gain an advantage.
The rematch that followed was as impressive as the audience had expected, but it was also a bit tragic. Vegeta’s willingness to sacrifice his free will just to defeat his former rival shows how insecure Prince Saiyan really was at the time and how easily it led to the deaths of his wife and children. . own.
2. Vegeta vs. Semi-Perfect Cell
Vegeta’s battle with Semi-Perfect Cell is important for a couple of reasons. Firstly, this is the first time that audiences get a glimpse of a form beyond the Super Saiyan; not to mention the first and only time Vegeta has actually surpassed Goku since their first battle on earth. Unfortunately, however, the battle also shows that, even though Vegeta has grown as a fighter, his ego remains his biggest weakness.
The Saiyan Prince’s new powers allow him to completely turn the tide of Cell; with the latter’s smug attitude quickly fading when he realized he might have met his match. Unfortunately, however, Cell is still able to end up playing bad on Vegeta’s arrogance and tricking the Saiyan into allowing him to absorb Android 18 to achieve his perfection. This almost leads to not only the end of Vegeta, but also the death of everyone he knows and loves.
3. Vegeta vs Frieza
After fighting his way through Zarbon and Dodoria and some Ginyu forces, Vegeta finally faced Frieza once more. While at first it seemed like he might have a chance, his quest for revenge ultimately fell through due to Frieza’s drastic transformation.
Despite being completely overpowered by the villain, Vegeta continues to stand up; show the true strength of the character. However, perhaps the single biggest moment of his entire character arc came when he finally accepted that it was Goku, not him, who was destined to transform into the legendary Super Saiyan. His later death was a noble one and even a little touching even though he had committed many crimes in the past.
4. Vegeta vs Goku
When it is revealed that two more Saiyans are on their way to Earth, the Z Warriors are understandably worried; at least because they are said to be even stronger than Raditz. Even so, they could never have imagined how dangerous the arrival of a Saiyan would be.
With the Saibamen destroying half of Earth’s defenders and Nappa handling the rest, it was once again entrusted to Goku to save today. What’s interesting, however, is that Vegeta deals a fatal blow to Nappa, proving just how ruthless he really is. From here, he pushes Goku to his absolute limit and would almost certainly win if it weren’t for Gohan’s unexpected Oozaru transformation.
5. Vegeta vs. Zarbon
After dealing with Dodoria, Vegeta’s next target is Frieza’s right-hand man, Zarbon. The green furry goon is much stronger than Dodoria and also has quite a few tricks hidden in his hand. It’s true that he still can’t match Vegeta, but his mid-battle transformation perfectly foreshadows the upcoming duel with Frieza.
Considering Zarbon was stronger than Vegeta just a few episodes earlier, Zarbon’s sudden and sudden increase in strength also lends to the notion that Saiyans will become stronger through battles. Even when Zarbon is in buffed form, Vegeta is able to punch him right in the chest and then finish him off with an energy blast.
